Every once in a while, usually when the battery of my laptop is low and needs charging, the time and date change. I then have to manually fix it.
How can I keep the clock/calendar from changing?
wow that's really weird. that's never happened to me. so yeah! Dunno, grin. sorry, couldnt' resist.
In date and time there's an internet synchronization tab. See if that's checked or not. I think it helps Not sure.
I already checked that out and no dice. :)
it sounds to me as if the little internal lythiam battery which maintains the clock even when the main rechargeable battery is dead is faulty. these are a bitch to replace but can be done I believe. how old is your laptip?
Less than a year! I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
if it's less than a year, it should still be under warranty?
indeed it is. I think I'll just continue to manually fix the clock. There are worse things that could happen.
no, if you can, you really should get it looked at.
might aswell get it done now for free than in a couple of years when its 10 times worse (not exadurating here)
Well Kevin, I'd contact the laptop manufacturer if you're able to, and tell them about your issue. If something needs to be fixed, you should do that while your laptop is under worenty. Good luck!
Agreed with those that said it sounds like a bios battery issue. And as that battery can maintain more than just clock settings, probably should be looked at.
